Your mission
Provide technical guidance, coordinate and support our bioinformatics team
Design and development of workflows (scripting - Python, Bash, Perl, R) in collaboration with technical teams for prediction/processing/visualization of biological data
Application and further development of machine learning algorithms in the field of protein biochemistry
Data evaluation, data analysis and further processing of DNA/RNA raw sequencing data from Oxford Nanopore and Illumina technology.
Support shaping and maintaining our bioinformatics server infrastructure.
Scouting of new trends/technologies in the field of bioinformatics.
Presenting bioinformatics methods and their results in internal and external meetings.
Your profile
Completed studies (B.Sc., M.Sc., Dipl.) in the field of bioinformatics or related disciplines
Optional: Doctoral studies in the field of bioinformatics, data science or related disciplines is a plus
Good knowledge of R, Perl, Python, Bash and/or other scripting languages
Experience in the field of "Next Generation Sequencing" and processing of raw sequence data
Basic knowledge in the area of Machine Learning
Basic Linux/Unix knowledge
Fluent in English and good skills in German
Creative, uncomplicated and pragmatic
Enjoy working independently in dynamic project teams in a scientific research environment
Willingness to design and implement (hands-on mentality)
Agile and efficient in both small and medium-sized teams
Very good communication skills and willingness to proactively communicate in all directions (project team, collaboration partners, "up and down")

Ihre Aufgaben
Planung, Durchführung und Auswertung von DNA/RNA Sequenzierung mittels Oxford Nanopore und Illumina Technologie
Datenauswertung, Datenanalyse und Weiterverarbeitung von Rohdaten aus der Sequenzierung
Anwendung und Weiterentwicklung von Machine Learning Algorithmen im Bereich der Proteinbiochemie
Design und Entwicklung von Arbeitsabläufen (Skripting – Python, Bash, Perl, R) in Zusammenarbeit mit technischen Teams zur Verarbeitung/Visualisierung von biologischen Daten
Scouting von neuen Trends/Technologien im Bereich der Bioinformatik
Präsentation der bioinformatischen Methoden und deren Ergebnisse in internen und externen Besprechungen
Ihr Profil
Abgeschlossenes Studium (B.Sc., M.Sc., Dipl.) im Bereich der Bioinformatik oder verwandten Disziplinen
Gute Kenntnisse im Umgang mit R, Perl, Python, Bash oder anderen Skriptsprachen
Erfahrung im Bereich „Next Generation Sequencing“ und der Verarbeitung von Sequenz-Rohdaten
Grundlegende Kenntnisse im Bereich Machine Learning
Grundlegende Linux/Unix Kenntnisse
Sehr gute Kenntnisse in Deutsch und Englisch
Kreativ, unkompliziert und pragmatisch
Freude am eigenverantwortlichen Arbeiten in dynamischen Projektteams im naturwissenschaftlichen Forschungsumfeld
Gestaltungs- und Umsetzungswillen (Hands-on-Mentalität)
Agil und effizient in kleinen wie auch in mittelgroßen Teams
